The idea of this guide is to help you choose the right equipment set for your job, and also give some guidelines and answers to most commonly asked questions regarding the ordering process and DitoGear™ equipment.
Warranty and returns
What is the warranty for DitoGear Products
All DitoGear™ products purchased online have a 1-year (one year) limited warranty. Post-warranty support is also provided.
Hardware failures are very rare with our equipment. Electronics failures happen from time to time, but are more and more rare since the products and OmniControllers especially are already matured and refined.
In case of failure, contact our support to get the problem solved quickly.
Before you contact us:
Make sure you have read and use the equipment according to User Manuals.
Make sure you have checked Troubleshooting guide in the User Manual (if applicable).
Prepare all basic information about your equipment, such as: order date and number, equipment type, model and serial numbers, detailed description of the failure.
Prepare all detailed information required to reproduce the problem (if applicable) or at least understand it. Note down all your DitoGear™ equipment setup settings, let us know about your camera and camera mounting.
Proceed according to the instructions given by our staff.
In most cases issues may be solved remotely.
Some repairs may be done on your own with a bit of our support and DIY approach.
If something needs to be shipped, it is usually the electronics or motor units. Main hardware never needs to be shipped over.
If you ship the stuff for repair or replacement according to our guidelines the procedure is fast, easy and inexpensive.
You are required to cover shipping costs to DitoGear™, we cover shipping back to you w/ Fedex or UPS Economy. If you are short on time, we may ship it using Priority courier provided that you cover the price difference.
You are allowed to return any products within 10 days from the date of delivery. Full price of the products will be refunded, but you are required to deliver goods in perfect shape and cover shipping costs 2-way. See Terms and Conditions for details.
Renting, trying out, testing
I live in XYZ. Do you have any dealerships nearby?
No, we don’t have the dealer/reseller/distributor in your country, but you may order online in our store and the goods will be shipped to your location.
At DitoGear™ one of the main goals is to provide top quality products at reasonable prices. Therefore we (and you) can’t afford traditional sales and distribution models where often 50% of the product retail price goes to resellers, dealers and distributors. Selling direct allows us to keep prices reasonable and use best available components to produce the equipment.

I would like to try the product before I buy. Can I rent it somewhere?
We have sold a lot of sliders to almost all countries in the world and many of our customers signed up for Rental Network. Please feel free to contact them to ask about their experience and rental options.
Yes, you can pay by credit card using PayPal. Please submit PayPal payments to email@example.com.
PayPal accepts almost any type of payment including most of credit cards. The other payment option is regular wire transfer.
I have issues paying with PayPal
There might be a few reasons for issues with PayPal payments.
In most cases when issues occur, you will get the problem explanation from PayPal. Proceed according to that.
In some cases the following message may be shown or sent to you: “The transaction cannot complete successfully. Instruct the customer to use an alternative payment method.” In such case it is mostly related to your credit card and you need to check the following:
Make sure your PayPal account or credit card is enabled for Internet transactions and international payments. You may need to contact your bank for this.
Make sure that there is no legal limit of outbound international PayPal payments in your country. Check this with PayPal.
Make sure that your credit cards limits are sufficient to commit payment
In case you had first PayPal payment failure, it is recommended that you place an order choosing bank wire as a payment option. That way the order will not be lost in case of payment issues and you will be able to pay with PayPal anyway after placing it.
VAT charges and exclusions
The VAT at local 23% rate is added to the order total in the following cases:
For all orders on behalf of companies resident in European Union excluding companies with a registered EU VAT number.
For all orders on behalf of individual persons or companies based in Poland.
For all other orders in case of personal pickup in Poland.
The order is eligible for VAT exclusion only in the following cases:
The order is placed on behalf of a person/company based outside the EU AND it is shipped outside of EU.
You are based in EU, you have a registered and valid EU VAT number AND you have provided it during checkout / registration. Check this page to verify your EU VAT number.
The VAT can not be excluded if:
You are based in Poland.
You are based in EU and you only have a local VAT number. Check this page to verify your EU VAT number.
You are based in EU, and just applied for the EU VAT number, but it was not valid on the date of purchase.
You provided us with the EU VAT number AFTER the order was placed and the invoice issued.
You are based outside of EU, but you are picking up goods personally in Poland. In this case there are chances you may get the VAT refund in your country after the customs clearance is made, but we need to charge it.
All customs duties or import charges are due to the buyer of the equipment and are NOT included in the shipping fees.
Customs duties may vary depending on the country. Please check it with your local authorities prior to ordering. Customs duties are usually ~5% of the order total plus some handling fees in case when Fedex or UPS does paperwork and clearance for you. However, there are countries where they may be up to 50% of the order total.
There are countries where there are serious total value limits on the import of goods for individual persons (for example USD 1000.00 mark for individuals in Russian Federation). Please make sure the order total does not exceed these limits.
No, we cannot underdeclare, send goods as a gift or anything like that.
Returns in result of customs clearance problems or pickup issues
Please note that in case when the goods were shipped to you and returned for any of the following reasons, you have to cover the costs of shipping the goods to you and also cover the return costs. The above refers to the following situations:
Goods that were not picked up in time from the courier
Goods that cannot be delivered as a result of wrong shipping address you provided
Goods that have been rejected by customs for any reasons. You are responsible for checking if the goods can be legally imported to your country before placing the order.

How much will shipping cost?
Shipping costs depend on your location and the goods you order. To get an estimate:

Typical shipping costs:
Small items, such as accessories or controllers are usually about EUR 35.00 – 60.00 to Europe and about USD 50.00 – 100.00 to US (Fedex Economy).
If shipping costs are NOT calculated automatically, you will be contacted by DitoGear™ staff and instructed how to pay them.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider + Transport case or DitoGear™ OmniHead/ LensDrive is usually about EUR 50.00 – 100.00 to Europe and about USD 100.00 – 150.00 to US.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider 2.5m units can only be shipped w/ freight carrier and therefore takes usually up to 7 days. It costs approximately USD 800.00 to US and Australia and ~ EUR 400-500 in Europe and on the continent. The 2.5m units may only be shipped with the Alu Tranpsort case. So unless you are really sure you need a 2.5m unit, it is recommended that you get a 2.0m version.
Domestic shipping, within Poland is free.
How long does it take to ship my order?
The legal order terms require that we ship within 30 days from the payment clearance date. Normally, most orders are dispatched within 1-2 weeks.
Shipping to most locations takes 3-4 working days (economy) or 1-2 working days (priority) unless it is 2.5m slider.

I have an important shooting tomorrow / in a few days. If I order today how fast can you get the slider to me?
We do not recommend buying the equipment in rush. If you are a new customer, it is best to schedule some time for getting use to your new gear before the shooting.

Take into account possible shipping delays and customs clearance time. It also happens that parcels arrive damaged or incomplete – its not our fault, but we need time to fix it. Add some time to check if the parcel arrived in good condition and reserve some time for setting it up, testing and learning.
DitoGear™ T’rantula Questions
What is the difference between T’rantula GO and T’rantula HD?
They hold different payloads. T’rantula GO: 35kg (horizontal operation), 4.5kg (vertical), 15kg (underslung). T’rantula HD: 100kg (horizontal), 9kg (vertical), 30kg (underslung).
The diameter of the T’rantula GO rods is 15mm and the spacing between the rails – 23cm. T’rantula HD rods are 30mm; as for the spacing – it’s 41cm.
T’rantula GO 1.0m – 4.3kg; T’rantula GO 2.0m – 6kg
T’rantula HD 1.0m – 13kg; T’rantula HD 2.0m – 18kg
Can I attach motorized MiniJib on T’rantula GO or HD?
Yes, it is possible to install motorized MiniJib on DitoGear™ T’rantula GO or HD. The double rail design makes it possible to avoid some inertia issues.
DitoGear™ Spinn360 Questions
Is the Spinn360 loud? Can I record sound nearby?
DitoGear™ Spinn360 is rather not recommended for the film work and for working with the sound on the set. At higher speeds in video mode the turntable is quite loud so it rather will not be possible to record sound nearby.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider Questions
What OmniSlider length do you recommend?
It is a tough question. It all depends on your applications and shooting style. Certainly, there are 2 best-selling lengths: 1.5m and 2.0m.
Let’s have a look at some advantages of all lengths:
DitoGear™ OmniSlider 1.0m
The most portable version. It can be set up easily by one person, you may use it with a single heavy duty tripod, but 2 lightweight tripods are recommended. It can be taken into a plane as checked-in luggage, but you may be required to pay extra for bulky luggage. DitoGear™ OmniSlider 1.0m Servo + Transport Case + Battery is about 18 kg. Dimensions are 135 x 26 x 18 cm.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider 1.5m
The best selling length. A great compromise between portability and versatility. The length with the transport case is 185 cm and can fit in larger cars as well.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider 2.0m
The 2nd best selling length. Very versatile length, usable both in studio as well as outdoor landscape shooting. 230 cm length with the transport case.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider 2.5m
This is a HUGE unit. Really. Almost 3m with a transport case makes it difficult to put into most of the cars. Shipping is also much more expensive (freight only) and takes more time. Go for it for studio work or for outdoor shooting if you have a decent team to carry it around and you are sure you need it. Sometimes this length really makes a difference – you may put it across a small river in the middle of the forest, hang across the monument in the old town or do a lot of creative stuff like that. Lots of fun.
What accessories do you recommend?
First, make sure you are familiar with what comes with the OmniSlider Kit, then, let’s have a look at what is essential.
Very often you will be using an external camera monitor. Why not power it from the main OmniSlider Power Pack? What you need is Power Splitter Type B.
Dew prevention during time-lapse shoots
In case you are shooting a lot of time lapse in the nighttime or in cold/humid conditions you may consider DitoGear™ DryEye . It is a controller and heater system that prevents dew condensation or lens freezing during shoots in demanding conditions. DitoGear™ DryEye may be powered from the same battery as a slider or any other external source. When coupling it to the slider battery, you will need Power Splitter Type B.
More power for your camera
If you are shooting a lot with a 5D, 7D or any other camera using LPE6 battery, it would be cool to power it from the slider battery, too. We have a solution for that. Check this adapter to extend your live-action or time-lapse shooting sessions. Not only does it drop voltage from 12V do 8.2 required by Canon, but it also does the job in the most efficient way possible (over 85% efficiency rate).
Sloped – between 15 and 70kg depending on the slope angle.
If you are planning on using it with a heavy camera, you will additionally have to consider stability. DitoGear™ OmniSlider is rather a compact unit, so to make it work properly with a heavy camera you will need to stabilize it properly. Also, using a compact rig and placing the load as low as possible, close to the track improves the performance.
For the DitoGear™ OmniSlider Stepper:
Horizontally – up to 30kg
Vertically – up to 4kg
Sloped – between 4 and 30kg depending on the slope angle.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider Stepper is not recommended for live-action filming due to movement granularity generated by the stepper motor which may result in image artifacts.
I use XYZ camera. Is the slider compatible?
There are 2 aspects of compatibility.
The first one is whether you can place your camera on the slider or not – see question above.
The other is shutter control which is an optional feature used in drive-shoot-drive mode, continuous time-lapse mode as well as stop-motion mode. Currently, we support shutter control of most models of Canon, Nikon and Panasonic GH1/GH2 DSLR cameras as well as RED Epic and Red One.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider Servo is a quiet unit and you may easily work with sound nearby provided that you operate at low to average speeds range. With really fast movements (above 70% of speed setting) it may become loud and it may be difficult to record sound nearby.
The DitoGear™ OmniSlider Stepper is rather not recommended for the film work and for working with the sound on the set. At higher speeds in video mode the slider is quite loud so it rather will not be possible to record sound nearby.
Installing MiniJib on a single footprint DitoGear™ OmniSlider can cause some inertia issues so it is not recommended by DitoGear™.

They hold different payloads. DitoGear™ OmniSlider Servo: 70kg (horizontal operation), 12kg (vertical), 25kg (underslung). T’rantula HD: 100kg (horizontal), 9kg (vertical), 30kg (underslung).
DitoGear™ OmniSlider has a monorail design. DitoGear™ T’rantula HD – double rail with spacing of 41cm.
DitoGear™ OmniSlider comes in one piece. DitoGear™ T’rantula HD can be extended and disassembled. You can make T’rantula HD 4m or even longer and still the longest part of this dolly is one meter long which makes it truly portable.

What is the difference between Modulo dolly and T’rantula GO?
They hold different payloads. DitoGear™ T’rantula GO: 35kg (horizontal operation), 4.5kg (vertical). Modulo: 25kg (horizontal), 6.5kg (vertical).
DitoGear™ T’rantula GO can be operated underslung. Maximum payload is 15 kg. As for the Modulo – this is not possible.
T’rantula GO is very easy to assemble and it takes only a few minutes. In case of the Modulo – it consists of many parts that need to be connected together; the set up process is more time-consuming and sophisticated, especially in demanding conditions.
DitoGear™ MiniJib Questions
What is the difference between motorized and manual MiniJib?
Manual MiniJib consists of MiniJib Arm attached to Manual Operation Add-on.
Motorized MiniJib is affixed to DitoGear™ OmniHead. It’s possible to attach the second OmniHead Unit to MiniJib Camera Adapter Plate.
Can I use motorized MiniJib with DitoGear™ slider?
Yes, it is possible to install MiniJib on one of the following double rail sliders:
DitoGear™ T’rantula GO or T’rantula HD.
Installing MiniJib on a single footprint DitoGear™ OmniSlider can cause some inertia issues so it is not recommended by DitoGear™.
Can I use motorized MiniJib for live-action shooting?
DitoGear™ MiniJib is fully usable for time-lapse cinematography and stop-motion animation. Real-time motorized operation is also possible at slow speeds, but due to inertia issues it is not recommended by DitoGear™.
DitoGear™ Evolution Motion Control Kit Questions
What is the difference between the 3-, 4- and 5-axis Evolution Motion Control Kit?
The main difference is hardware included in the kit:
3-axis bundle comes with the chosen slider (OmniSlider Servo or T’rantula GO) and OmniHead (pan and tilt motorized head).
4-axis kit includes the slider of your choice (OmniSlider Servo or T’rantula GO), OmniHead and one LensDrive Unit that serves as a focus or zoom drive.
5-axis bundle includes OmniSlider Servo or T’rantula GO plus OmniHead and two LensDrives.
What is the difference between T’rantula GO, T’rantula HD & OmniSlider Evolution Motion Control Kit?
Each kit comes with a different DitoGear™ slider: OmniSlider Servo, T’rantula HD or T’rantula GO.
Key differences between OmniSlider Servo, T’rantula HD and T’rantula GO:
OmniSlider is bulky and heavy duty, T’rantula GO is lightweight and portable.
OmniSlider is faster, holds higher payloads. T’rantula GO is slower, lower payloads.
